BUGATTI CHIRON SPORT ‘110
Bugatti Chiron Sport ‘110 ans Bugatti’ pays tribute to France
20 examples of 1,480-hp hypercar will celebrate 110th anniversary with French tricolor
Bugatti is celebrating its 110th anniversary this year, and this calls for an exclusive, special-edition run of the marque’s already exclusive cars. This task falls to the Chiron, which will celebrate the milestone with just 20 examples of the Chiron Sport “110 ans Bugatti,” which means 110 years of Bugatti. This may not sound like a lot of cars, but proportionally to the annual output of the Chiron, this number is pretty significant.
How will you be able to spot the 110th-anniversary Chirons in a sea of regular, run-of-the-mill Chirons on your morning commute?
The French tricolor painted on the underside of the hypercar’s spoiler will be the most obvious giveaway — Bugatti is a French marque, lest we forget — as the Chiron Sport will pay tribute to its home country.
“The flag originally symbolized the union between monarch and people in the phase of the constitutional monarchy,” Bugatti says. “Since the end of the monarchy, it has represented the French Revolution with its famous ideals of liberty (blue), equality (white) and fraternity (red).”
The 20 special edition cars will also wear a Steel Blue exterior color in a matte finish, which will extend to the C-shape that envelops the doors and the front half of the car that is usually painted in a different color than the rest of the body. This means that the Chiron Sport “110 ans Bugatti” cars will be among the few that feature a uniform, as opposed to two-tone, paint scheme for which the marque is known. This matte-finish color will extend to the exposed carbon fiber of the front end as well, while the alloy wheels will be painted in Nocturne matte black and will feature special “110 ans Bugatti” center caps. The rear diffuser and bumper, meanwhile, will be finished in steel blue carbon offset by a contrasting black exhaust system.
On the inside, the “110 ans Bugatti” Chirons will wear the French tricolor on the headrests and the backrests, with the flag stripes running vertically, while the interior will be finished in a Deep Blue leather color. Large circular “110 ans Bugatti” logos will adorn the headrests, while the 12 o’clock mark on the steering wheel will once again feature the French tricolor.
“Another special feature bearing witness to the high level of craftsmanship is a specially crafted medallion in the central console stowage space, made of solid silver with enamel inserts, positioned on a carbon-fiber plate,” Bugatti adds.
The automaker will skip a bump in power — the Chiron Sport is by no means lacking performance — so the quad turbo 8.0-liter W16 and its 1,480 hp will have to do.
